How we compare prices
AlpineDealz is an independent price comparison for Switzerland. This page explains in plain language where our prices come from, how offers are ordered and how the site is financed.
Where the prices come from
We read prices from the public product pages of Swiss online shops (BRACK.CH, Fust, MediaMarkt CH and mobilezone.ch) several times a day. An updated version of the site is published about every six hours, and every price is shown with the time it was fetched (Zurich time).
Offers that could not be re-checked in the last 12 hours are hidden. Shops that block automated price reading (Galaxus, Interdiscount, digitec and microspot.ch) are not included, and we do not try to get around such blocks.
Same product, matched by EAN
Same product: offers are matched by EAN/GTIN (the barcode number), so every row is exactly the same item. Where a shop only lists a variant of the same model, it is marked as a model-family match. Where a shop does not publish the EAN (mobilezone), offers are matched by model, colour and storage and marked as such.
Ranking: by price only
The offers for a product are sorted by price only, cheapest first. Shops cannot pay for a better position, and affiliate links are not ranked higher.
On the overview pages, products are sorted by the price gap between the cheapest and the most expensive shop. Savings are the difference to the highest price listed by the shops we compare – not to a strike-through or recommended retail price.
Affiliate links
Some shop links are affiliate links. If you buy something after clicking one, AlpineDealz may receive a commission from the shop. The commission costs you nothing extra and does not change the prices shown or the ranking. The programmes we take part in are listed in the disclaimer.
Prices can change: the shop's price applies
Shops can change prices at any time, and products can sell out between two updates. The price and conditions on the shop's website when you order always apply, so please check them before you buy.
